Date: Saturday, March 22nd, 2010 As we make the transition from winter to spring, there is a natural desire to get rid of what we don't need. Winter is a season of rest, hibernation and retreat. We spend more time indoors and are generally less active. This workshop will release the heavy effects of winter by stoking our internal fire, agni, to burn away the toxins and imbalances that naturally build up. This practice will include: fluid movement, twisting in lying, seated, and standing postures, backbends and forward bends to tone the kidneys and liver, hip openers to encourage movement in our emotional body, and inversions to facilitate drainage of the lymphatic system. Yoga for the KneeDate: Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 The knee is vital for movement and mobility, yet very subject to trauma and damage from that same movement and mobility. Join us on Saturday, April 3, from 4-6:15PM for a special workshop focusing on Yoga and the Knee. Goals are to provide insight into ways to both protect the vulnerable knee joint in everyday and sports activities, and tips to optimize safe recovery of function after injury.
